Josie and Evan fell in love over their shared love of breakfast, bad puns, and freelance filmmaking. They make their home in Los Angeles with their rescued Greyhound, Pippet, and first met while editing projects together. In their own words…
Evan and Josie’s romance began as any love story does: boy meets girl. Boy asks girl if she wants to co-edit every project with him. Girl matches boy in workaholism. Boy is smitten with girl’s wit and humor. The projects end, and boy asks girl if she wants to try and hang out, not in front of the glow of a computer monitor. Girl agrees.
The wedding itself was infused with homage to Josie’s blended Swedish and Moroccan heritage (guests departed with her father’s take on the North African spice blend ras el hanout, and sang Swedish drinking songs during dinner service!).
I adore these two, and I had such a blast with them on their wedding day. We went from the Santa Barbara Courthouse for their Mural Room wedding ceremony to bridal party portraits at El Presidio, followed by coffee at Handlebar and a trolley to their reception at the Duo Events space. And start to finish, it felt like a breeze, because that’s how easy it is to be around Josie and Evan. Their effervescence is infectious.
Without further ado, a glimpse into the festivities of March fourth.
