As seen on 100 Layer Cake
Oh man. I’m trying real hard to find the best words to describe Liz and Ryan’s wedding. This “sci-fi desert wedding” in Palm Springs. And luscious bougainvillea everywhere.
The groom and groomsmen got ready at the Korakia Pensione, a totally kick-ass Moroccan-inspired retreat (which also hosted the wedding reception later in the day).
Other bits and pieces that made this day extra-special… Ryan (the groom) made the leather belts and wallets worn by his groomsmen, even custom sizing the belts on the day of the wedding (that’s a leather punch tool he’s wielding in the photos below). Liz’s sister Anne Marie wrote a song for the occasion, and the lyrics reprised the phrase “sci-fi desert wedding,” which was the general theme Liz and Ryan chose for designing their wedding day. SO rad. And their guests used the hashtag #cactuswedding for everything they posted on Instagram.
The guests were stylishly dressed, the food was amazing, the stars came out, and everyone danced late into the warm desert night. Without further ado, here is part one from Ryan and Liz’s Palm Springs wedding day. If you want to skip ahead, here is part two.
This beauty was also featured on 100 Layer Cake!
