As seen on 100 Layer Cake.
Juan and Christyna met while they were both students at University of California, Berkeley (which is also where we did their engagement session), and their wedding at McCormick Home Ranch was a wonderful homage to their 12 years together (and the next 60+ years to come).
The celebration was a unique, unexpected blend of beautifully rustic garden surroundings and tropical decor (a nod to Juan’s Panamanian heritage). The bride and groom opted NOT to see each other before their July 1 ceremony, and Juan teared up as Christyna walked down the aisle, escorted by her grandmother, Mama T.
Vickie worked hard to ensure every detail was in place, and Sharon brought some serious A-game with tropical greenery, bright blooms, and miniature pineapples that stole the show. Christy of Lazy Creative Designs hand-lettered the names and ingredients of the couple’s signature cocktails on banana leaves at the tropical fruit-decorated bar, and guests dined on a Caribbean-meets-Southern family-style dinner that included six-cheese macaroni and cheese, barbecue chicken, and Creole cornbread with honey butter.
Here are some of our favorites, and you can see more details over on 100 Layer Cake.
