As seen on Style Me Pretty
We recently reunited with Sydney and Mark for drinks and dinner near their home in Westlake Village, and our time together was pretty much an even split between loving on each other and laughing over the hilarious dance floor photos from their wedding.
We met the newly-minted Mrs. Holmes almost two years ago at the Anna Delores studio, and we all knew it was going to be a perfect fit (Sydney called Mark on her drive home to tell him so). We fell even deeper in love with the two of them during their engagement session earlier this year, and then it was time to rendezvous in Maui…
Before we get to the images, though, a little about these babes (who have become two of our favorite people): they’ve been together about seven years, and their “accidental first date” occurred when they planned to take a class together at Moorpark College. They couldn’t find the classroom (and admittedly didn’t look that hard); they quickly gave up and went out for dinner instead.
When we checked into our hotel room in Maui, Sydney and Mark stopped by to say hello (along with Syd’s maid of honor, Taylor) and told us the story of how Mark proposed. He planned a whole day for Sydney and Taylor (with Sydney’s bestie in on the secret, of course). Bride-to-be Sydney thought they were going shopping for an upcoming trip to Vegas, but Mark was planning to propose and wanted her to have a day of pampering first (how sweet is that?!). With a card that said, “shit just got real,” Mark gave Sydney a few hours to buy a dress and made hair and makeup appointments for her. Later that night, Taylor finally took her to the bluffs in Malibu, where Mark was waiting.
On their wedding day, they both struggled to hold back tears (they both do this adorable thing where they press their tongues inside their cheeks to keep themselves from crying). Sydney and Mark are truly best friends, and we are in awe of their relationship. They are able to be their genuine selves together, and we’re not sure what more anyone could ask for.
Without further ado, our favorites from their Maui wedding day at Olowalu.
